As a child in my father's Berber village, I vividly remember women singing in the fields. Their voices, imbued with soul and earth, resonated through the valleys and mountains, creating an unforgettable melody that has never left me. Now, as an adult, I have embarked on a journey to rediscover and share this cultural richness. This led me to discover Les Chants de Tassaout , a literary treasure translated by René Euloge.

MRIRIDA N'AÏT ATTIK: THE REBEL AMAZIGH POET, A SOURCE OF INSPIRATION FOR KACI

Mririda N'Aït Attik, a rebellious poet from the High Atlas in the 1940s, had a voice of particular intensity. Her songs, imbued with freedom and beauty, evoked the torments of love, the condition of women, and resistance to the French occupier. René Euloge, artist and translator, was fascinated by her spirit and voice, and immortalized her poems in his book Les Chants de Tassaout . Born in the rustic village of Magdaz, Mririda, the voice of the Tassaout wadi, proudly stood up against convention. "They called me Mririda, Mririda, the lively frog of the meadows," she proclaimed, embodying resistance and audacity. These same qualities inspire our brand, KACI, today.
